Into the Breeches!

Pickett is terrific as Celeste, portraying her as a cross between Harriet Harris in her “Frasier” mode, Bette Davis in her “All About Eve” mode, and Tallulah Bankhead in her everyday mode.
-Don Aucoin, The Boston Globe

[Pickett’s] talent shines through the character’s quick sarcasm and drawling wit…Celeste was a comedic light throughout the show, having the audience in stitches with every line.

Tall Tales from
Blackburn Tavern

Katie Pickett serves up a lot of laughs as “The Gloucester Translator”...the character is likable and welcoming, making the audience feel right at home.

Dance Nation
"Katie Pickett is poignant as Zuzu, the embodiment of a second banana, one who is excruciatingly aware of her limitations."
- Don Aucoin, The Boston Globe
"Katie Pickett delicately portrays self conscious and sensitive Zuzu with a tangible anxiousness and discomfort in her own skin."
- The Sleepless Critic
Songs for a New World
"And I’m finally at the star of the show. Pickett is a powerhouse performer, knowing exactly where to emphasize, both as a singer and actress. My eye was drawn to her in the ensemble numbers…Her energy never distracted, but only added to this production’s spark and drive. I felt she was under-featured and under-appreciated, and I can’t wait to see her in a more featured role in the future."
- My Entertainment World
"Pickett brings down the house with her hilarious barrage of spousal complaints…Then she makes “The Flagmaker, 1775” into a mother’s plaintive prayer for any son at war, then or now. Again, our hearts are in our throats, choking back the tears."

Merrily We Roll Along
"…powerhouse performer Katie Pickett forces this poignantly compelling figure into every stage of the morality tale."
- Theatermirror
A New Brain
"…the incredible vocals of Katie Pickett, who sings with a boisterous, infectious energy, and always seems to be the actor having the most fun onstage."
- The Berkeley Beacon
Hot Star, Nebraska
Special mention, however, must be made for Katie Pickett. She is outright stunning as Margo, making all of her time on stage count for all that it's worth and then some. In her hands and voice, the word "galvanizing" becomes a gleefully scathing condemnation of the nowhere town that she's stuck in. Her diminutive frame belies her powerhouse singing; in her few moments in the musical spotlight (a solo called "Green Hearts" and its reprise, and a section of the first act finale), Pickett's vocals explode like a river flooding over a dam, extraordinary and exciting to witness.
